Grass - Shenandoah Switch - Sale Price: $37.95 The Grass 'Shenandoah Switch Grass', Panicum virgatum 'Shenandoah', has a burgundy-red color to the foliage. This one starts out red in June, by mid-summer it looks like Bloodgrass, and in fall, it is a rich burgundy. The foliage starts out as deep green but takes on the red color thru the summer. The 4' height makes this a good choice for a specimen plant. It is one of the shortest Switch Grass varieties available. Given full sun and average soil, it is a moderate to fast grower. This plant will grow in dry to moist soils or well-drained, loamy, sandy or clay soils with a pH of a neutral to slightly alkaline. The fragrant blooms measure up to 6 inches across and have a rose blush band near the center of the flower.  These huge fully double, ruffled, peach colored blooms flower in midsummer and then again later in the season. ‘Siloam Peony Display’ will bloom up to 16 hours for a full day, and being an extended bloomer, it produces a continuous big show in your garden with its wonderfully fragrant double flowers. The large, yellow-gold leaves have ruffled, dark green edges with multiple shades of green.  The oval shape of the slightly textured leaves give this plant added interest.  Its exquisite leaf form and good substance make 'Journey's End' a garden must! Pale lavender, nearly white, tubular flowers bloom in June and July. 'Journey's End' is a low care perennial and is ideal for shady positions, and is one of the most popular for landscapes.  It is best to keep areas around Hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails. It grows well in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots.
