Hosta - Pineapple Punch - Sale Price: $42.75 The Hosta Pineapple Punch, Hosta 'Pineapple Punch', has narrow, rippling, extremely ruffled, lance-shaped leaves that start off creamy yellow, and then turn white.  A lovely sport of Pineapple Upsidedown Cake, Pineapple Punch is medium sized with an arching mound. It displays light lavender blossoms on tall flower scapes in late summer.   Since 'Pineapple Punch' is an excellent grower, spreading from underground rhizomes, it makes an outstanding border plant or groundcover! Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails.  Plant 'Pineapple Punch' in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves.  It is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plants. Peony - Sarah Bernhardt - Sale Price: $42.75 The Peony 'Sarah Bernhardt', 'Paeonia', a fall planted bulb, is one of the most popular Double Peonies. This gorgeous variety produces large, soft pink flowers, of perfect form with a delightful fragrance. They produce superb, long lasting cut flowers. During late spring-early summer, they fill the garden with fragrance. They will bloom 3 to 4 weeks in late spring. The Peony tolerates some drought but thrives in moist, fertile, well-draining soil. If your soil is extremely acid, add some lime at planting time. Plant the roots with the eyes (buds) pointing up and place them 1 below the soil level.
