Grass - Desert Plains
Pennisetum 'Desert Plains', Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Desert Plains', is a hardy and graceful, fountain grass that makes a dazzling focal point in a sunny landscape. It is easy to grow and needs at least 6 hours of direct sun per day. Desert Plains is a seedling of Cassian, but has an improved habit, better flowering performance, and richer fall color. Desert Plains forms a stunning upright vase-shaped clump. The plants fine textured leaves make a transition from green with deep red tips, to shades of orange and bronze in the fall. It bursts into bloom with its showy, large 5 inch long, mauve-colored bottlebrush plumes early fall; about 2 weeks later than 'Cassian'. Once this ornamental grass is established, it takes on the heat, humidity, and punishing sun effortlessly. It tolerates drought, is easy to grow, and is deer resistant. Carefree hardy plant!

Hosta Queen of the Seas, Hosta 'Queen of the Seas', lets you make a statement in your garden.  This new dynamic, vibrant, blue hosta has a tall, upright form and forms a huge 48” clump! The 'Queen of the Seas' displays large, blue-green leaves that have wavy pie-crust margins, and are heart shaped. The near white flowers are produced in early to midsummer. Hosta 'Queen of the Seas' won the Best of Show award at the 1997 American Hosta Society national convention! In midsummer, the 'Queen of the Seas' clumps are topped with 3' spikes of lavender flowers.  In warmer southern zones, the color may deepen to green in summer. Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails.  Plant this low care plant in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves.  'Queen of the Seas' is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plants. Rose - Red Meidiland® - Shrub - DetailsRose - Red Meidiland® - Shrub - Sale Price: $71.35
Red Meidiland® Rose, Rosa 'MEIneble' (PP7,116), is covered by small, dense leaves of glossy dark green. It produces clusters of single red roses (to 3” diameter) with white centers and yellow stamens in a continuous bloom from May to frost. The flowers have no fragrance. The blooms are borne in sprays of seven to fifteen. The end of the season brings a special attraction as orange-red fruit persists along bronze winter stems. This rose has its own root. The advantage of own root roses is that once established they are very resilient. If winter's freezing breezes kill the top growth, the rose will grow back in the spring, and the recovered rose will look the same as the one you purchased. Red Meidiland is a low-growing shrub rose with a creeping habit that is often grown as a ground cover. It typically grows with arching or cascading stems to 1.5 to 2 feet tall and spreads to 4 to 5 feet wide. Meidiland roses are landscape and ground cover roses that come from Meidiland of France. A groundcover of dark green and sparkling with red flowers!
