Bluebeard - Arthur J. Simmonds - Sale Price: $49.95 The Arthur J. Simmonds Bluebeard, Caryopteris x clandonensis 'Arthur J. Simmonds', is perhaps the hardiest of bluebeards! It displays powdery light blue flowers that are produced in late summer when few other shrubs bloom. It makes a shapely rounded bush, and its light colored lance-shaped leaves visually blur with the blue of the flowers. Before flowering, Arthur J. Simmonds makes a fine foliaged, formal shape that combines well with golden grasses. This is a relatively small shrub that will die back to the ground during the winter. It is suggested that this bluebeard be cut back to the ground to enhance production of new wood on which the flowers will be borne. Fall Bloom! Zones 5-9

Mock Orange - Buckleys Quill - Sale Price: $18.95 Buckley's Quill Mock Orange, Philadelphus 'Buckley's Quill', displays fragrant, double white flowers that are 1 in diameter with up to 30 quill-like petals and blooms abundantly in late spring. This deciduous shrub forms a semi-dwarf, erect shape at maturity. The deep green summer foliage develops a yellow fall color. An old fashioned favorite, Buckley's at home in the shrub border. One needs to allow ample room for its arching branches. It grows 6 feet tall, 4 feet wide and is deer, drought, and pollution tolerant. Western Sand Cherry - Sale Price: $64.25 Western Sand Cherry, prunus besseyi, displays attractive, single, white flowers in May, and then it produces an abundance of 3/4 purple-black sweet fruits.  They can be eaten fresh, dried, or processed as jellies and pies. This hardy rounded shrub has silver-green foliage.  Plant the shrub where it will be in direct sunlight for most or all of the day. Well-drained soil is best, but isn't an absolute requirement, as sand cherry is very adaptable to poor soil. It grows 5-6 feet in height and width, forming a rounded shape, and makes a great shrub for farmstead windbreaks. Spiraea - Tor - Sale Price: $51.35 The Spirea 'Tor', Spiraea betuliflia 'Tor', is a compact spirea reaching a height and width of 2-3 ft. Its tiny white flower clusters are set against a backdrop of deep green leaves that are almost iridescent in the summer. The bright foliage turns a deep, purplish-red in the fall. The flowers are attractive to butterflies. A light shearing will encourage repeat bloom.  Tor blooms on new wood so pruning in early spring or late winter is recommended.
