Daylily - Chicago Orchid - Sale Price: $49.95 The Daylily 'Chicago Orchid', Hemerocallis 'Chicago Orchid', is a favorite summer blooming perennial with large clumps of long grass-like leaves with showy clusters of orchid lily-like flowers on tall stems. A midseason bloomer, this 'Chicago Orchid' plant produces several flower stalks with up to a dozen buds.  The buds open in series, but a flower lasts only a day, giving the plant its common name, Daylily! Star Dust begins to produce green broccoli-like buds in mid-summer, which gradually open into large clear-white flower heads, later developing a tinge of pink. Star Dust is a valuable late source of nectar for butterflies and bees too. This sedum looks great planted in bold drifts towards the front of a sunny, well-drained border. 'Celestial' has dark green leaves with a greenish yellow color swept across the margins, and then brightens to a creamy white in the summer. In midsummer, pale lavender flowers are produced on 33” to 36” scapes.  This new variety is considered by some hosta experts to be an improvement over ‘Northern Halo' and other white edged sieboldiana types.  This cream-edged, low care perennial is ideal for shady positions.  It is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plant.
