Hosta - Celestial
Hosta - Celestial Hosta Celestial, Hosta 'Celestial', is a large plant that has deeply corrugated, rounded leaves that measure 12-15 long! 'Celestial' has dark green leaves with a greenish yellow color swept across the margins, and then brightens to a creamy white in the summer. In midsummer, pale lavender flowers are produced on 33” to 36” scapes. This new variety is considered by some hosta experts to be an improvement over ‘Northern Halo' and other white edged sieboldiana types. This cream-edged, low care perennial is ideal for shady positions. It is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plant. 'Celestial' needs high-filtered or dappled sunlight for clean, healthy growth. Morning sun is tolerable and will help to intensify the leaf colors, but hot afternoon sun is usually deadly to hostas! Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5. Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. This hosta offers attractive corrugated green leaves with a wide cream border! * Low maintenance * Tall scapes * Large cream-edged leaves
