The Echinacea ‘Kim's Knee High’, Echinacea purpurea, also known as Coneflower, is an easy to grow flower that produces beautiful large flowers with deep pink petals and bright orange centers. ‘Kim’s Knee High’ is the newest and smallest variety to be added to the Echinacea family.  The large, fragrant flowers bloom from July to October and a major attractor to butterflies and bees and deer resistant, it is a must for any perennial gardens. With its dark green foliage, Echinacea ‘Kim's Knee High’ stands 2’ high with a plant spread of 12-23”. For best results, plant in full sun in a well drained area.  The large sturdy stems carry the large blossoms from midsummer to fall.   The coneflower is known for its large flower heads that turn to seed in the fall.  It is a great choice for cut flowers, and it adds a wilderness look to your garden. ‘Kim's Knee High’, usually reblooms without deadheading, but if spent flowers are removed, this procedure will encourage continued beautiful blooms and improves general appearance. This coneflower keeps coming all summer on tall plants with excellent branching; deer resistant. The Daylily 'Montego Melon', Hemerocallis 'TP 06-13', is an early-blooming daylily with soft yellow blooms on a more compact plant.  Because of its long bloom season, and multiple flowering cycles, this daylily is perfect for mass plantings and perennial beds! The compact grass-like foliage is rust resistant and matures to 15-18 inches, so it is considered a low growing daylily.  This rugged, adaptable, vigorous perennial endures in a garden for many years with little or no care. Daylilies adapt to a wide range of soil and light conditions.  They establish quickly, grow vigorously, and survive winters with little or no injury.  Individual flowers last only one day, but since each plant produces many buds, the total blooming time of a well-established clump may last more than a month.   Divide 'Montego Melon' every 3-5 years, or when the number of flower buds and the size of bloom begin to decline; divide in early spring.   Plant daylilies in sites that provide well-drained soil and plenty of sun. Lamium Ghost, Lamium maculatum 'Ghost', has a large mound of all silver leaves, which becomes is a great backdrop for its attractive clusters of bright orchid purple flowers! Lamium 'Ghost', introduced by Intrinsic Perennial Gardens, stands 1' tall and the leaves are large, measuring 1.5 long compared to .5 - .75 long on the other varieties. 'Ghost' is an excellent groundcover and is also deer and rabbit resistant. Lamium prefers a semi-shady dry area with well-drained soil, but will tolerate a wide range of soils and moisture; do not allow it to dry out.  It is best to cut this plant back after the first bloom to promote compact growth.   It disguises dying bulb foliage very well, and makes an excellent weed-smothering ground cover! Use Lamium in hanging baskets, in mixed containers, trailing over walls or as an edging, but spread must be controlled.   ‘Ghost’ looks great among hostas, ferns, lungworts, bulbs and wildflowers. The Ajuga ‘Burgundy Glow’, Ajuga reptans, is a useful ground cover with short spikes of blue flowers. This Ajuga is one of the most popular, forming striking mounds of leaves dappled in green, pink and cream. During the wintertime, Ajuga ‘Burgundy Glow’ develops rich bronze and burgundy tones. The flowers appear in late spring on 6” spikes with a plant spread of 12-18”. ‘Burgundy Glow’ should be planted 6-9” apart for a beautiful ground cover. Ajuga ‘Burgundy Glow’ will do best in a shaded area but will adapt to morning sun. (The foliage colors will be more vivid with morning sun.) It prefers moist soil with a good drainage but will tolerate moderately dry areas. Do avoid soggy conditions. This Ajuga looks great in rock gardens, as a border plants, in mass plantings and is great for preventing erosion. It is relatively carefree; however, it can be invasive. Butterflies and hummingbirds are definitely attracted to Ajuga, not to mention being deer resistant and a low allergen.
