The outer tepals are reddish pink, fading to pale pink at the edges, the inner tepals are palest pink with a narrow deep pink stripe.  The stamens are creamy-white. The double flowers are on the old wood in May and June followed by single flowers on the new growth in September. Hosta 'Little Sunspot' was developed by Briggs Nursery and is a sport of 'Little Aurora'.  The small gold leaves are boldly edged with .5 green margins and are slightly cupped.  In midsummer, white flowers with delicate pale lavender stripes, are produced on 16 tall scapes.   'Little Sunspot' is a low care perennial and is ideal for shady positions and is one of the most popular for landscapes.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails. It grows well in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots.
