Daylily - Sunny Honey - Sale Price: $49.95 The Daylily Sunny Honey, 'Hemerocallis 'Sunny Honey', is a repeat blooming daylily with a 3 1/2 inch honey yellow flower, with a green throat. It has evergreen foliage growing to 24 inches.  The plants do not usually require dividing for several years, but are easily split apart in fall or early spring.  The spent flower stems can be trimmed back after blooms are finished but wait to cut back the dead foliage until early spring. Mondo Grass - Sale Price: $56.95 The Grass 'Mondo', Ophiopogon japonicus, is an evergreen perennial which forms a dense clump of grass-like leaves; similar in appearance to Liriope, but finer textured with thinner blades. ('Mondo' actually is a member of the lily family despite its appearance and common name.) The leaves emerge in clumps from a network of rhizomes that grow just below the soil surface.  With age, the clumps will merge to form a soft dense carpet of foliage.  The small light purple flowers appear in summer, but are of little interest since they are hidden in the dense foliage, and so are the small blue-black berries that follow. It can be used as a bed edge or as a groundcover in a shady area.  It is important for erosion control since the dense mat of roots holds the ground well; avoid planting it near moist areas because it will take over! Bleeding Heart - Specatabilis - Sale Price: $64.25 The Bleeding Heart Specatabilis, 'Dicentra ‘specatabilis’, is a fast-growing perennial with pink, heart-shaped flowers. It is the most common variety in its species. The blooms look wonderful against its grayish foliage.  Dicentra ‘specatabilis’ has a plant height of 30” and a width of 20”. This Dicentra should be planted in full sun but will tolerate morning shade.  It is heat tolerant and needs moist soil.  Do not let it dry out. This Bleeding Heart will bloom from May to September and is a major attractor to butterflies. The foliage does go dormant, so it is best to plant this bleeding heart among later developing perennials such as hostas and ferns which will fill in as the bleeding heart foliage begins to die back. ‘Specatabilis’ makes excellent cut flowers, in mass with groundcovers, or in potted containers.
