Clematis - Patricia Ann Fretwell - Sale Price: $42.75 Clematis Patricia Ann Fretwell, Clematis 'Patricia Ann Fretwell™', is the first double flowering red and pink clematis! The outer tepals are reddish pink, fading to pale pink at the edges, the inner tepals are palest pink with a narrow deep pink stripe.  The stamens are creamy-white. The double flowers are on the old wood in May and June followed by single flowers on the new growth in September. Clematis 'Patricia Ann Fretwell™' needs a supporting structure to grow properly.  Clematis is easy to grow in a rich, porous, alkaline soil with plenty of room for the roots to spread. Best performance is when the tops are in full sunlight and the roots are shaded, so apply generous mulch or a shallow-rooted ground cover near the base of the vine. Very reliable performers once established; they take a season or two.  Prune lightly above the new leaf buds in early spring and remove any dead or weak stems. Eupatorium ‘Chocolate Mist’ should be planted in full sun, but can tolerate some afternoon shade.  Make sure it has a moist, well-drained area for optimal success; adequate moisture and a thick blanket of mulch are effective. Coral Bells - Palace Purple - Sale Price: $42.75 The Heuchera ‘Palace Purple’, Heuchera micrantha, also known as Alumroot or Coral Bell, is one of the most popular Coral Bells on the market! Being named Perennial of the Year in 1991, one can see why. With its unique deep purple foliage, fading to bronzy green in hot summers, and its dark red stems, it is a little different than the rest. In the springtime, small pinkish and white flowers appear that last into the summer, however, Coral Bells are not known for their flowers, but their foliage. ‘Palace Purple’ has a plant spread of 10-15” and a height of 12-18”.  It is best to grow it in medium wet, well-drained soils, in full shade. (It can tolerate some morning sun.) ‘Palace Purple’ looks especially good around the edge of borders, near variegated plants, woodland edges, rock gardens, perennial borders, or in mass to form an attractive ground cover. Cold and drought tolerant and withstanding heat and humidity, nothing seems to phase this plant.  ‘Palace Purple’ needs about one inch of water per week; divide clumps in fall.
