Grass - Red Switch - Sale Price: $64.25 Grass - Red Switch, Panicum virgatum 'Shenandoah', has a more upright form and is the smallest of the Panicum. It is a clump-forming, warm season grass which typically grows in an upright, vertical clump to 3' tall (to 5' when in flower). Its foliage is green, tinged with red during the growing season, then turning bright red in the fall. Nothing comes close to the fall color displayed by this grass, and it retains this color throughout the winter! It will attract birds and is suitable for cut and dried flower arrangements. Red Switch Grass prefers full sun, moist fertile soil, but adapts to a wide range of soil conditions. Red Switch is a warm season grass that likes to grow in warm weather. Before it will show signs of life in the spring, the soil must warm up, and be warm for possibly as long as two weeks. This switch grass can be used very effectively when planted with fall blooming asters. Cut back clumps to the ground in late winter to early spring.

Hosta - Sum and Substance - Sale Price: $99.95 The Hosta Sum and Substance, Hosta 'Sum and Substance', has large, rounded leaves with heavy puckering.  This Hosta is slug resistant and a vigorous grower! The lavender flowers bloom from July to August, however, Hostas are not only known for their flowers.  With a plant height of 36” and a spread of 60”, this is a giant plant with colorful foliage that will need space to grow! Hosta ‘Sum and Substance’ needs to be planted in a full shade area in any moist, well-drained location.  ‘Sum and Substance’ does require some sun to enhance its golden color. ‘Sum and Substance’ was named Hosta of the Year in 2004, and one can see why.  The flowers are on 50” scapes, making it one of a kind! Plant this low care plant in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves.   ‘Sum and Substance’ is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plant.  A great choice for any beginner gardener. Grass - Maiden - Sale Price: $34.95 The Grass 'Maiden', Miscanthus sinensis 'Gracillimus', is a tall, graceful, clumping ornamental grass. The slender, weeping leaves are silvery-green and turn golden bronze in fall; a silver stripe runs up the middle of the sword-like green leaves. The flowers are white fan-shaped plumes in fall that extend above the foliage. The hardiness, the fine foliage and the spectacular fall colors have made 'Gracillimus' a favorite and very popular for years! Plant in spring or early summer when the soil is warm as the roots will grow only in warm soil. Planting too early in the spring may cause the roots to rot. Cut back the previous year’s growth before growth starts to appear in early spring.   'Gracillimus' has an arching shape and looks fabulous in the landscape as a specimen, screen or a nice mass of textured foliage; also looks great near a pond!
