Hosta - Golden Meadows - Sale Price: $56.95 Hosta Golden Meadows, Hosta 'Golden Meadows', has outstanding foliage that requires light sun to light shade but needs to have some sun to bring out the excellent color. The large heavy leaves are slightly puckered and emerge with a cream center and a two-tone green and blue margin; leaves are often twisted, which adds extra character to this beauty! As the season progresses, the center will turn green. Spikes of small drooping funnel-shaped lily-like flowers appear in July to August. Golden Meadows Hosta is a sport of 'Elegans' and forms a somewhat unruly mound about 3 to 4 feet across. Hosta - Celestial - Sale Price: $42.75 Hosta Celestial, Hosta 'Celestial', is a large plant that has deeply corrugated, rounded leaves that measure 12-15 long! 'Celestial' has dark green leaves with a greenish yellow color swept across the margins, and then brightens to a creamy white in the summer. In midsummer, pale lavender flowers are produced on 33” to 36” scapes.  This new variety is considered by some hosta experts to be an improvement over ‘Northern Halo' and other white edged sieboldiana types.  This cream-edged, low care perennial is ideal for shady positions.  It is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plant. 'Celestial' needs high-filtered or dappled sunlight for clean, healthy growth.  Morning sun is tolerable and will help to intensify the leaf colors, but hot afternoon sun is usually deadly to hostas! Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots.
