The Grass 'The Blues Little Bluestem Grass', Schizachyrium scoparium 'The Blues', has attractive deep blue foliage. The fall color is a burgundy red. It works well in mass plantings. It does well in a variety of soil types and is drought tolerant. Extra water and fertilization is not needed! The attractive foliage is upright and is open to spreading the fine textured leaves. Little Blues Bluestem grasses have delicate and inconspicuous inflorescence in late summer and become silvery when dried. The foliage remains attractive in winter.
