Hollyhock - Nigra The Nigra Hollyhock, 'Alcea rosea', has large single, very dark maroon to almost black flowers. (The darkest flower in this family). The flowers grow on rigid, towering spikes or spires which typically reach a height of 4’ to 6’. The Hollyhock family is made up of a rather large group that exhibits tall stature and is biennial in nature. Although they are short lived, they reseed themselves. The large blooms of ‘Nigra’ Hollyhock flower in the summer months from June to August! Alcea is a wonderful plant near the back of the border, working great along walls or fences. They are best planted in full sun in a well-drained area. Peony - Karl Rosenfield - Sale Price: $71.35 The Peony 'Karl Rosenfield', 'Paeonia', a fall planted bulb, produces magnificent bright red flowers that are stunning in the garden and superb for cut flowers.
