Peony - President Roosevelt - Sale Price: $71.35 Peony President Roosevelt, Paeonia lactiflora 'President Roosevelt', is a favorite for a mid spring display and boasts brilliant double red and striking very large semi-rose flowers. Its pronounced yellow stamens add a nice contrast. The flowers have good stems, are richly fragrant, and make great cut flowers. Peony President Roosevelt seldom needs to be divided or moved, but if it is needed, it should be done in the fall. Trim off old stems to the ground in late fall too, to help prevent disease problems. Peony President Roosevelt will flower best in a sunny location with very well-composted soil. Peonies are herbaceous perennials arising from thickened tuberous roots that are invisible and hidden underground most of the year.

Hosta - Old Glory - Sale Price: $42.75 Hosta Old Glory, Hosta 'Old Glory' (PP#12,503), will add color to your landscape foliage with this medium size Designer Hosta from Shady Oaks Nursery.  Hosta 'Old Glory' PP12503 is a sport of 'Glory' and has sweet, heart-shaped leaves with golden yellow centers. This golden yellow hosta has a 1 slightly rippled, dark green margin.  In midsummer, 24 scapes are produced that display soft light lavender flowers.  This fast growing sport of Hosta 'Glory' will take your breath away! This is a low care perennial and is ideal for shady positions and is one of the most popular for landscapes.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails. It is most at home in well moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. Yarrow - Paprika - Sale Price: $64.25 The Yarrow ‘Paprika’, Achillea millefolium, is an upright gold centered, fading to light pink & creamy yellow, Yarrow that blooms from June through September. With fern-like aromatic silvery to gray-green foliage, it is considered to be one of the best yarrows in any landscape. The foliage has a somewhat strong, spicy aroma, which persists when used in dried arrangements. The flower heads are 3-4” wide, with a spread of 18-24” and a height of 24”. This Yarrow does well in average garden soils, but prefers lean, dry to medium wet, well-drained soil. (Avoid heavy clays and moist, rich, fertile soils.) Yarrow should be planted in full sun and is tolerant to hot humid summers. ‘Paprika’ is excellent for cutting, fresh or dried. Remove faded flowers regularly to promote continued blooming. Inclined to spread, so site this carefully or plan to reduce the clumps each spring. For an attraction to butterflies, deer and rabbit resistant, one can’t go wrong with this plant.
