Inkberry - Shamrock
Compact Shrub - Ideal as Low Accent or Hedge  The Compact Inkberry 'Shamrock', Ilex glabra 'Shamrock,' is a handsome compact form of the native Inkberry with lustrous dark green leaves. It is slow growing, reaching 3 to 4 feet tall and wide. 'Shamrock' tolerates wet sites. 'Shamrock' is a very nice compact inkberry that has new growth being a much brighter, glistening green, then maturing to the lustrous dark green color. It holds its leaves on the lower branches better than most Inkberry. With maturity, it produces large amounts of dark purple to black colored berries; production really increases after the third year of growth. This Inkberry plant is very useful as accent plantings, as well as for a maintained low growing hedge. Plant in fairly moist, acidic soil that is well drained; mulching recommended.

Barberry - Concorde - DetailsBarberry - Concorde - Sale Price: $32.95
Commonly known as Japanese Barberry, this compact little shrub’s burgundy-colored foliage is a dramatic —and welcome— contrast in a landscape dominated by green everything-else. ‘Concorde’ has very small teardrop-shaped leaves on thorny branches which form an orderly round plant that tops out at not much more than a couple of feet. Use ‘Concorde’ as a foundation planting or berm or border edging, and in any number of other small, sunny spaces where you need a plant of a different color. Full sun keeps the leaves their pretty royal purple color, which will gently turn deep red in the fall, and through the winter you’ll be treated to lovely red berries. A slightly acidic soil will benefit this slow-growing, pest-free shrub (which is also hypo-allergenic and resistant to deer, drought and disease). To tilt the pH, just tap a few nails into the soil under the shrub canopy. Pruning is only required to change its shape or overall size. Zones 4-8. There is always space for Concorde in any landscape, and it will look terrific in yours as well. Plant in full sun.

Beauty Bush - Pink Cloud - DetailsBeauty Bush - Pink Cloud - Sale Price: $13.95
Beauty Bush - Pink Cloud, Kolkwitzia amabilis 'Pink Cloud', produces white-pink flowers that are carried into May on arching stems, and this colorful display has quite an effect. The bell-shaped pink flowers have yellow throats that appear in clusters in a profuse mid-spring bloom. The rest of the year, it remains a mound of foliage, doing its job of screening the view of the neighbors! A member of the honeysuckle family, it is a suckering, deciduous shrub that typically grows 6' to 10’ tall with an arching, vase-shaped habit. Pink Cloud's flowers are followed by capsule-like fruits that usually persist on the plants. Broad-ovate dark green leaves turn an undistinguished yellow in fall. Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun. Best flowering is in full sun. Diminished flowering, often accompanied with a more arching-spreading habit, occurs in part shade. Use Beauty Bush in your landscape design as a screen, as a specimen or at the corner of a house in groups of three.
