Harvest is in August in Central California. The Golden Nectar plum is a good keeper. The tree is self-fertile, can grow in many soils, and can get 15-20 feet with a somewhat wider spread. Burbank is a natural semi-dwarf, reaching only 12-15' with a graceful spreading form. It is super-sweet, red mottled yellow in color, and has a deep yellow flesh with a very good flavor. This plum is semi-freestone, which means it partially separates from the pit. Burbank Plum requires minimal pruning which should be done after flowering when the tree is still leafless. It prefers a well drained, loamy, mildly acidic to mildly alkaline soil and does best in full sun. |
