Ninebark - Summer Wine® - Sale Price: $39.95 The Physocarpus Summer Wine, Physocarpus opulifolious 'Summer Wine', is a new Ninebark that is very neat with compact branching and deeply cut, dark crimson leaves. The summer Wine is purple ninebark hybrid that resulted from a cross between Nana and Diabolo. This resulted in a shorter plant with the purple leaves. This plant requires little pruning, but if you need to prune, do it after this plant blooms. Do not prune after mid-August to allow for the flower buds to form for next years flowers. This compact ninebark looks great in a pot. Use this plant in groupings or masses, in perennial or shrub borders, containers and as a short screen. The pinkish white flowers appear in mid-summer. Summer Wine is showy and extremely hardy and is prized as a landscape shrub and as a cut flower. Weigela - Carnaval - Sale Price: $57.10 Carnaval Weigela, weigela florida 'Courtalor', is a beautiful shrub that produces multitudes of pink flower buds that open into shades of red, white and pink trumpet-shaped flowers. The glossy deep green leaves are heavily textured. Carnaval is an extremely showy landscape plant with a growth that measures 4-5 feet tall and 3-5 feet wide. Slowly prune the down growing branches, and it will vigorously grow upright. Carnaval is a grower favorite because it is easy to plant, easy to maintain, and easy to enjoy! It likes sandy, well drained soil under almost any conditions. It can be planted as a specimen, hedge or in groupings planted 3 feet apart. It grows best in a sunny location with moist soil. This weigela tolerates some drought.

Cotoneaster - Spreading - Sale Price: $19.95 Spreading Cotoneaster, 'Cotoneaster divaricatus', is a beautiful rounded ornamental shrub with pink flowers in the spring. It produces bright red berries in the summer and is one of the best fruiting varieties. The glossy, dark green foliage turns red in the fall. It is marginally hardy in zone 4. This medium-sized ornamental shrub matures at about 7' tall by 8' wide and has an upright columnar growth habit in youth, but quickly becoming horizontal and spreading with age. Spreading Cotoneaster prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soils, but is very adaptable and urban tolerant. It has few disease and pest problems. Its fall color is a nice mixture of green, yellow, orange, red, and burgundy, slowly becoming deciduous.

It is a compact, deciduous shrub with a rounded habit which typically grows 3' tall. Forever Pink features clusters of pink or blue florets in large, rounded, 4 to 5 heads which bloom in June (often earlier than other varieties) for up to two months. For best results grow in rich, medium moisture, well-drained soil in part shade. It tolerates full sun only if grown with constant moisture. Soil pH affects flower color (blue color in highly acidic soils and pink color in slightly acidic to alkaline soils). Add aluminum sulfate to soil to make flowers bluer, or add lime to soil to make flowers pinker. Group or mass Forever Pink in a sheltered location of the shrub border. The layered branching habit of this plant gives the subtle appearance of soft undulations in the ground beneath it.
