Clematis - Henryi - Sale Price: $44.95 The Clematis ‘Henryi’, Lanuginosa X group, has white flowers with chocolate brown anthers that bloom in June and September;  range in height of 10-12’ and a spread of 3’. The red flowers are approximately 6-8” wide.  Clematis ‘Henryi’ was a winner of the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit and one can see why! The foliage is dark green and makes a great contrast with the flower color. Clematis prefers full sun but will tolerate shade in the morning in a well-drained area. It is best to avoid heavy pruning on this perennial until it is fully established. Clematis ‘Henryi’ needs a supporting structure to grow properly but will also grow over large shrubs. The tops of Clematis prefer full sun while their roots prefer a cool, shady area.  It is best to heavily mulch the root zone to provide this cool, shady area. Hosta - Queen of the Seas - Sale Price: $39.95 Hosta Queen of the Seas, Hosta 'Queen of the Seas', lets you make a statement in your garden.  This new dynamic, vibrant, blue hosta has a tall, upright form and forms a huge 48” clump! The 'Queen of the Seas' displays large, blue-green leaves that have wavy pie-crust margins, and are heart shaped. The near white flowers are produced in early to midsummer. Hosta 'Queen of the Seas' won the Best of Show award at the 1997 American Hosta Society national convention! In midsummer, the 'Queen of the Seas' clumps are topped with 3' spikes of lavender flowers.  In warmer southern zones, the color may deepen to green in summer. Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails.  Plant this low care plant in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves.  'Queen of the Seas' is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plants. The dramatic, lacy leaves are adorned with heavily marked dark centers and have a shiny appearance that almost appears to be lacquered.
