The Coral Bells Venus, 'Heuchera 'Venus', displays large, silvery foliage with deep green veining. The near white flowers appear above the foliage in late spring. This plant will reach 15 inches tall with a spread of 24 inches. The Venus Coral Bells makes an excellent accent plant, border plant, container plant, and for massing. Coral Bells are easy to grow and blend in nicely with many other perennials in the landscape. Coral Bells are grown more for their foliage color but the small blooms that they contain will attract hummingbirds.

The Brunnera ‘Jack Frost’, 'Brunnera macrophylla' PP13859, has frosty silver leaves that offer a brilliant backdrop to the small clusters of bright blue flowers that appear in earliest spring. The Astilbe ‘Rheinland’, Astilbe japonica, has striking tall, feathery blooms of clear pink that rise above the foliage, adding a light, airy quality.  It has mid green foliage, changing to green in the spring.  The flowers contrast wonderfully with the glossy foliage. Astilbe ‘Rheinland’ blooms in midsummer and is 24” tall and has a plant width of 18”. Do not allow Astilbe ‘Rheinland’ to dry out since it prefers moist, humusy, organically rich soils.  It is most successfully grown in a shady area, but can tolerate some morning sun. Heuchera Midnight Bayou (Coral Bell), Heuchera 'Midnight Bayou', offers a fabulous four season interest! ‘Midnight Bayou’ first appears as a compact mound with ruffled lobed red-purple leaves; leaves have dark veins.  Then the leaf color changes with the season from red purple to silver purple in the fall. Dainty spikes of pink bell-shaped flowers rise above the foliage from late spring to summer.  Like most coral bells, its foliage tends to remain dense right to the ground, not requiring facer plants in front; should be cut back in late fall in preparation for winter. Cold and drought tolerant and withstanding heat and humidity, nothing seems to phase this plant.
