Hosta - Queen of the Seas
Hosta Queen of the Seas, Hosta 'Queen of the Seas', lets you make a statement in your garden.  This new dynamic, vibrant, blue hosta has a tall, upright form and forms a huge 48” clump! The 'Queen of the Seas' displays large, blue-green leaves that have wavy pie-crust margins, and are heart shaped. The near white flowers are produced in early to midsummer. Hosta 'Queen of the Seas' won the Best of Show award at the 1997 American Hosta Society national convention! In midsummer, the 'Queen of the Seas' clumps are topped with 3' spikes of lavender flowers.  In warmer southern zones, the color may deepen to green in summer. Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails.  Plant this low care plant in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves.  'Queen of the Seas' is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plants. If you want to add some architectural interest and color to your shade garden, be sure to include 'Queen of the Seas'! * Upright form * Wavy edged leaves * Heart shaped leaves

Daylily - Dragon's Eye - DetailsDaylily - Dragon's Eye - Sale Price: $56.95
Daylily Dragon's Eye, Hemerocallis 'Dragon's Eye', has a name that says it all! Hemerocallis 'Dragon's Eye' has a bold red eye zone which extends halfway onto the petals to create a dramatic look.  The petals of the 4 flowers are exquisitely ruffled with a thin rose-red edge. To top it off, the bloom power of this hybrid is spectacular.  Each scape produces an average of 24 or more buds for a continuous show of color in midsummer. This variety is also known for excellent rebloom in late summer, which extends the bloom season.  One of the best eyed daylilies on the market today!  Daylilies are some of the easiest plants to grow and are a good choice for any gardener.  They thrive in full sun or light shade and tolerate many types of soil.  In areas that receive less than 6 hours of sun during the day, your daylilies will probably produce fewer and smaller blooms, and the foliage may not be as robust; daylilies can survive many harsh conditions that other plants cannot. Use for stand alone plantings, edging, in borders or in mixed containers and tubs.  Planted together in large numbers, they quickly crowd out weeds and make a carefree and colorful ground cover. Because it blooms all summer, has gorgeous color, and an attractive, clumping foliage, ‘Chicago Orchid’ is a pleasure to have in any garden! * Blooming power * Dramatic and exquisite
